I just got back from my mom’s and I’m still trying to get my momentum back, so I haven’t hopped to any of your entries yet. Hello Girl Talkers! A brand new month of GT, and this September we’re going color crazy! And to start things off, I picked the color red for this week. Why red? Because this color is associated with passion, love, and beauty. And aren’t we all that and more girls? Yes, I hear a general agreement in the house. Tee hee. My entry, sadly, is neither passionate, lovely or beautiful (well, unless you have a thing for them) because it’s none other than our PIGGY BANK! Sorry for the dark shot, it was almost midnight when I took this. That, plus the well-known fact I’m a horrible photographer given any camera model.

He’s cute, though. And my daughter Svet loves putting coins in them (of whatever denomination, even after being told a thousand times that we are supposed to put only the Php10 kind). Now why the piggy bank? See, I don’t own a lot of red stuff. I would’ve flaunted my red lingerie if I owned one, but nada. Not a big fan of the color, although I do have mood swings which makes me crazy over it once in a while. And this piggy bank is also special to me, since the Girls Talk meme was the one who prompted us to buy it. Remember the I Love Me Financially week? That particular topic.

So yeah. That’s my entry for this week. I promise to do better next week, and post something girly and a picture with a better lighting (just remind me to shoot early). I already have a stuff in mind, but of course I’m not gonna tell you what it is yet. LOL. Now, we want to see what red stuff you own. Betty White came out the winner on this year’s Emmys as outstanding guest actress in a comedy series. She sure is one hilarious lady, but her sense of fashion is nothing to make fun of. I so love this pastel number on her! Well, she could’ve chosen a better shoe color because it doesn’t exactly match her outfit but hey, those are lovely shoes nonetheless!

Heidi Klum sported a too cute for words LBD from Marchesa for the occasion. And her shoes? To die for pumps by Christian Louboutin Pigalili! Gosh. I don’t wear pumps because of my height but if I have to wear one, I wouldn’t mind wearing that.

Not feeling Anna Paquin’s dress (which is by Alexander McQueen) and patent platform pumps here. She looks small in the dress, like it was made for someone taller. But she has the cutest face, and her black nails rock, and there’s still a lot of Emmys to come, so.

I don’t know Lauren Bosworth. It looks to me as if you’re going to the office and not the Emmy Awards. That green Karen Caldwell is too safe a choice, tsk. And the hair? Augh. The shoes are something I could see myself wearing though. But not with this dress. Nah.

Errrr, Stephanie Pratt, are you lost? This is the Emmy Awards. Your Marciano Edaline dress looks good on you, admittedly (and gawd, your legs look good!), but that’s for going to a next-door neighbor party. But I’ll take the peep toes. They’re gorgeous.

Love the girl, so, so hate the Yigal Azrouel dress. I am a huge fan of Lauren Graham. I think she’s beautiful beyond words, she’s a great actress, and she’s usually a spot on fashionista, but the 2010 Emmys did nothing for her fashion reputation. The dress did nothing for her! But, I love the gladiator shoes. Just not in this type of event. Too clunky for Emmys.

Gosh. I had a fun time checking out the celebrities’ outfits! Although a some shoes looked blah, and most I didn’t even see (what with all the floor-length gowns going on), but one thing is for sure, those they wore definitely did not come as wholesale shoes. Although yeah, some looked like they did. But they are celebrities, and they don’t wear anything less than $200. At least, methinks.

I’ve bought several articles of clothing online in the past, but I don’t think I’ve ever been more grateful when I received the Hunter boots that I ordered a month back. It was raining like crazy that time, and the boots came when I most needed them, thus my gratitude. And besides, who wouldn’t be glad to own a pair of Hunter Wellington boots in this type of weather lately when it’s almost always drizzly and damp?

And who says boots have to be boring? I know a lot of boot designs nowadays that are just gorgeous, some I would think even the non-boot wearers would want to rock. Besides, it’s always a good thing to look great whatever the weather is.

Oops. Apparently, the GT post I had scheduled last night was not published. And I just woke up. Sheesh. So sorry girls. My bad. Don’t worry, those who left a message on my Cbox with their links are already linked to the post (in order of the time posted at the Cbox of course. Hee hee).

Last Thursday this August, so that means this is the last movie recommendation for this month. Did I just hear a lot of “awwww” in there? I feel you girls. I have been enjoying this month’s topic way too much, and it sucks to let it go, but hey, there’s more to us girls than just movies right? So come September, we will be talking about something new. About what you might ask? Well we have several Girl Talkers who came forward and gladly shared with us what they thought might be fitting topics for the coming months.

What I decided was to list all the suggestions in my sidebar (yes, it’s already there now) and let you girls vote. Yay! Highest voted topic will be the topic for September, and this will be announced on Wednesday (September 1) morning (Philippine time). Sounds good? Awesome. Meanwhile, let’s get back to the topic on hand, which is the movie that I would recommend watching with an enemy. Or, if you don’t have an enemy, anyone you don’t like.

When Niko and I were discussing what topic to discuss this August, the movies that came to mind for this last week were gore movies. Yeah, spell yucky. Like Saw and all of its sequels. You know, just to gross out my enemy. LOL. But I realized my tolerance level for gore has dramatically declined the past several years, and if I suggested that I might be sharing the same barf bag with my enemy. Which would be sweet if wasn’t so gross. Hahaha!

Anyways, so I thought of a good movie to watch, something with a forgiveness theme. And I came up with:

First of all, I honestly don’t know why this movie did not go down well with the critics when it was obviously loved by a lot of audience worldwide (grossing a total of $174.3 million worldwide. whew!). Personally, I loved this movie to bits and cried while watching it. Why would I suggest this to watch with an enemy? Well mainly because the movie discusses the subject of mortality, that everyone dies. Life is just too short to spend on hating/disliking someone, so why not enjoy it to the fullest instead? I, myself, would like to be always reminded of that fact, so I can forgive others easier and have less reasons to fight/argue with other people. Don’t we all?

And with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson in it (and John Mayer doing the OST), what’s not to love?

Hello dolls! Does anyone have a pan nearby? Yes, dearies. The one you use for cooking. Can somebody whack me in the head pretty strong because I still haven’t finished visiting your entries from last, last week. LOL. But I am trying my best to finish because I am having sooo much fun! I am now a proud owner of a mile-long list of must-watch movies from reading your entries. Tee hee.

Anyways, this week’s theme is all about watching with our sisters/brothers. We are all girls in the family (four of us), and it’s a good thing that we have the same taste in movies. What would I recommend watching with them? Usually something funny (like a romantic comedy), but I remember a film we watched like thrice together, and it’s a 2008 action film called WANTED.

Oh I swear this movie just kicks ass. It has Angelina Jolie in it, after all. Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy (who is one of my crushes since watching the film) are also there. The flick so fast-paced it’s exhausting. LOL. The story is about Wesley Gibson (McAvoy).. Augh. I’ll let Wikipedia do the talking. Haha!

Gibson works at a dead-end desk job with an overbearing boss, takes anti-anxiety medication for panic attacks, and has a live-in girlfriend who cheats on him with his best friend. He is then subjected to a whirlwind of change in his life, including becoming the best assassin of The Fraternity, a thousand-year-old secret society of assassins.

Is she the goddess of chic or what? She just comes out of the red carpet, wowing us every time with her fashion choices. With her new film out, Angelina Jolie attended several movie premieres in different parts of the world, making the audience oohhh and aahhh by her presence. The above photo was the ensemble she wore for the Salt Premiere in Paris. Wearing a pale Pamella Roland wrap-style dress partnered with satin Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, she is just plain stunning. And since it’s Paris, the French-style updo looks just perfect. She came out of her basic blacks in this event, so this is really a pleasant change.

This is the basic black I’m talking about. This is what she wore for the German premiere of her latest flick held at the CineStar movie theater. Whoever can wear a gown with a spunky attitude? Well certainly, Jolie can. This BCBG Max Azria Atelier gown accessorized by the gorgeous black necklace made her look like a beautiful Grecian goddess. So it’s black and the carpet is black. So what? It’s Angelina people.

Now this is what she wore for the London premiere. A quirky choice, and not everyone’s favorite so far, but hey, if there’s anyone who can do justice to that £3,000 pink and silver sequined Amanda Wakeley gown, she can. I super LOVE her hair in this event. It frames her face very well, and she looks utterly amazing. Proof? Here’s a close-up:
