It’s the love month girlies, and we’re starting off this February with our idea of what makes a perfect man. Of course there really is no such thing as the ultimate perfect guy for everyone, as we girls have different views on what makes someone flawless, so what we’re going to do is this:

• If you’re currently in a relationship, list his qualities that makes him perfect for you. An appreciation exercise, if you must.
• If you’re single at the moment, list the qualities of a guy that will more than likely make you fall in love with him.

Okay? Good. So let me start the ball rolling. Paulie and I have been in a relationship for almost seven years now, been living together for five. Although I sometimes feel like giving him back to his mother wrapped in a sack (he knows, I tell him when I feel that way, so there’s no worrying he might read this. LOL), there are a lot more times when I feel truly blessed for having him in my life. He is not a romantic, mind you, but what he lacks in the squee-inducing department, he more than makes up for in taking care of me and Svet everyday.

I often promised in my single days that I will forever hold on to the man who will love my kid/s more than he loves me, and I found that man in Paulie. He likes children in general, he’s patient with them, so I could tell right off the bat that he’s a keeper. We don’t have the typical set-up where the guy works and the woman keeps the home clean and takes care of the kids. We have reversed roles, and while not a lot of men will be okay with that arrangement, he knows it’s what’s best for us and does what he can to help me.

He knows me very well, he can sense my mood changes and adapts to it. I know it’s supposed to go both ways, but he is more giving in that area and he mostly says sorry even if I’m the one at fault. He and my mom may not have gotten along well during the first year of our living together, but I can see he tries hard to make up for it. They’re on very good terms already, and I actually think he loves my mom like his own now.

And while I want to go on and on about why I think Paulie is perfect for me, I wouldn’t want to eat all of your day reading my post! LOL. Besides, I want to read your version of a perfect man. Last December when we were at my MIL’s house I had time to change nail color every week. So it was black, red, black red for the whole month. Those are the only two colors I’m comfortable seeing in my hands. It’s no wonder I haven’t taken up to copying what I see on the YouTube video tutorials that my youngest sister often watches. It’s fascinating, but I’d rather read a good book than spend twice the time I usually do on my nails. I’m just not that kind of girl. I do love watching those tutorials with my sister, though. I admire those women who are fastidious about how their nails look. Patience is the key, I know. And I have little of that for the nail department.

But, that’s just me. Do you like doing your nails constantly? I hear it’s even some women’s treat to themselves after a hard day at work or school. Are you a certified nail-aholic?

Fourth week of December and we’re still on the Wrapping It Up month, where we discuss some of the things we did this 2011. This Thursday it’s about the best new person that we met this year, meaning someone new that we got to know in person for the first time EVER and has become our favorite person ever since. It could be a celebrity, a new friend, a new member of the family, etc.

My best new person this 2011 would be my cousin Xien. She is just two months old, so she’s literally a “new” person, but she’s my favorite among the new people I’ve met this year. I adore babies, especially if they’re cute and cuddly. Xien is kind of on the chubby side, and she smiles a lot when I talk to her. She is sooo adorable!

Sure she likes to yawn and froth at the mouth and talk to walls, but hey, that’s what babies do best. When we go back to Baguio I will surely miss her, so I made her mom (my aunt) promise that she’ll have new pictures up on Facebook constantly. How about you dearies? Hi girlies! We’re still wrapping up 2011 in a series of posts for this month on Girls Talk, and this week in particular is about the monies that we earned and where we spent most of it this year.

This 2011, aside from the money that I spent on eating out with the family, the biggest portion of my 2011 money went to the gadgets that are now helping me do my job faster, communicate to the world better, and entertain my family more.

I think next year I will slow down a bit in buying gadgets, since I have already bought the essentials that I need. Maybe in 2013 I will start upgrading them, but the money I will be earning in 2012 will be saved up for (I hope) finally buying our own home.

Nowadays, these special coins are now also used by Hollywood people as movie/ TV show tokens, to show appreciation for people who have been part of a project.

I think this will also be a good memorabilia for celebrity events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Something like a challenge coin would definitely be a good remembrance of a special event.

She said directing was very far from her mind when she started but after being to a lot of war-ravaged countries, she decided that it’s the best way to show people “how war changes people”. There were a lot of hurdles during and after the film was made, but Jolie is not a woman easily discouraged.

I am looking forward to seeing this movie next year. I know this is not the type of movie that I usually like watching, but I know that it will be worth it, knowing that my favorite actress directed it.

While normal, unpopular people like me can only do so much to influence other people to develop their own green habits, these celebrities who are idolized by many can help a lot in swaying people into turning green to save our nature.

I hope to find all Hollywood companies using scanner software as well in order to turn into paperless corporations who recognize their corporate social responsibility by eliminating the use of papers.

But I found out that Rowling found it unable to live in her home anymore because of invasion of privacy, after pictures of their home’s address plaques were published for everyone to know. She bought her home in 2007, but she was forced to leave it to protect her children, who were not spared from the invasion.

Such is the price of fame, eh? Your private life becomes public, nothing is sacred anymore. This is one of those times that I am thankful that even though I’m not famous, I don’t fear that people are constantly snooping on  my private life. I feel sorry for Rowling because I know how outraged she felt when she found out that her children are involved in some journalists’ campaign to publish more about her.

After all, aren’t Caucasians doing everything they can to get tanned? You name it, they’ve tried it: natural tanning under the sun, tanning beds, the use of tantowel, tanning booths, instant tanning sprays and lotions. I could go on and on. On the flip side, darker-skinned people are trying to get lighter. Human nature eh?
