FitFlops, Anyone?
Anyone who knows me will know that I do not spend a lot on myself than is necessary nowadays. I used to have more pairs of shoes and sandals than I dare count when I was still working as an office girl, but I’ve already either given them away or lost them. All I have now are my pink Chuck Taylor (which I never use anymore but I love my Chucks so I don’t have the heart to give it away), several slippers I use alternately for going out, and a couple of gladiator sandals. Having lived in Baguio for a couple of years now made me more partial to comfortable slippers, since in here, walking long distances is a way of life.
In comes FitFlops. From what I can understand, it promises to be a portable gym for anyone who owns them. Walking while getting extra work out? Walking in itself is working out already, but a FitFlop promises more benefits:
- increase leg, calf and gluteal muscle activity
- improve your posture
- simulate aspects of barefoot walking but with more muscle load
- improve muscle tone

FitFlop Riata, $99.95 at Amazon.com
I’ve read several reviews, and it seems a lot of people are satisfied with the results. It would be the ideal footwear for Baguio then, if it works for me like it works for those reviewers. But at $50 (cheapest price at Amazon.com), I’ll just wait for a generous soul to give me one. LOL. Seriously. I’d rather spend my $50 on buying a better computer part for my desktop. I know. Such a geek. LOL.
