Low-Budget Christmas?
Christmas is in the air now and most people are busy preparing their Christmas trees as early as November. Holidays don’t have to break the bank just to be wonderful and there is nothing really expensive in a happy family celebrating together. Below are some examples on how to celebrate a budget-friendly Christmas. Trust me, we do this every year, and thankfully, we come out (mostly) unscathed from the holiday expenses.
- In putting Christmas decorations, it doesn’t have to be brand new or pricey. You can always go for home-made ornaments (especially if you have the time and creative juice. You might even earn from it!) or led strings which is nowadays a favorite because of its low-cost and energy saving feature. You can keep and use it for the next years to come.
- Instead of staying indoors, go to a family park. Let your family enjoy nature. Make fun games and play with your kids. This is one way to save electricity, as well as a great bonding activity outdoors that does not incur a lot of expenses.
- Only cook what you can eat. Do not cook more than what your family can consume. You can even eat outside in your porch/garden/veranda with your home-cooked meal while enjoying the different cristmas lighting in your neighborhood.
- Always plan early. Know the extent of your allotted budget for the season so there will be no problems in buying ingredients for the family feast and gifts to be given to loved ones.
Christmas is, after all, about being there for the family and enjoying the holidays together. I’m sure there is no greater gift than that.
