GT: Funny/Weird Food Names
Hey girlies! I hope I haven’t missed anything monumental going on while I was away for two Thursdays. Anyways, the topic for this week is funny food names that we’ve encountered. I thought of this topic because I have one to share, a word that I discovered during our trip to Vigan last month. I’m a HUGE sisig (it’s a Filipino dish made from parts of pig’s head and liver) fan, so I was delighted to find that they have a Vigan version, and it’s called warek warek. Weird, right? It’s also called dinakdakan, which also sounds weird. Hee hee.
Nope, no pictures. The moment I realized I might need a picture of it for a blog post, the plateful of warek warek is gone. How sad is that, huh? My stomach is pleased, though. Hee hee. You can Google for pictures of the dish instead. I looked and there’s tons of it. I am really a poor meme host, am I not?
