GT: Miss Spelling
We’re down to the last Thursday of the month, so that means next Thursday, we’ll have another set of prompts to talk about! But before we get to that, let’s talk first about our most misspelled word of all time. Mine used to be “rhythm”, until in Grade 6 when I was a participant in a provincial spelling bee competition and I got the said word wrong. I can’t remember it now exactly, but I think if I got it right that time, I would have qualified in another round of spelling. Sucks, right? But hey, at least I learned how to spell “rhythm” right from then on. LOL.
Yeah, back in elementary I used to like spelling competitions because it was one of the things I excelled at (I still think I am, a good speller by the way. LOL). I would never pass up a chance to represent our section/grade/school in a spelling contest. Geeky, right? But I think it did me good, seeing how I am able to utilize it now in blogging and coding. BUT. I still suck at spelling this word:
occasion
I know! Frustrating that I get stumped in such a common word. In fact, when I first typed the word in this post, I spelt it wrong. Hahaha! I can never remember what letter to double, whether the S or the C. I usually double the S, which is my big problem. And even though I should know that by now, I still get it wrong most of the times. *sigh* I wish there was an easy way to remember it, like this rule I learned long ago:
I before E except after C
Remember that? I bet you do! I just wish that this Girls Talk week, I would learn to spell ocassion correctly from now on.
Oh there I go again. It’s occasion, dummy.
Now, I’m curious what word you always fail to spell correctly. Join in the Girls Talk fun! How? Simple! Just make a post including the Girls Talk badge AND link, submit the EXACT URL of your post at the inLinkz tool below and hop to the blogs of the other participants to see what other they have to say on the prompt of the week topic! That is how you play Girls Talk!

lol…we got the same word!
Oh Yay! I love this week’s topic!
I learned that “I before E except after C” thing from a cartoon called “Arthur”..
hehe

Mine isn’t the same word, but i have the same but opposite issue, (necessarily). Those pesky double S’ and singular C’s.
