Celebrity moms like Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie can afford to throw expensive baby showers. They obviously have a lot of money and they get paid hundreds of thousands for the photos too making it pretty stupid not to, right?

Of course, some artists still prefer private family events with only close friends and relatives attending. After all some of these mega rich celebrities just don’t need the money.

Can you imagine some of the gifts flying around these showers?  I wouldn’t be surprised if top brands like Louis Vuitton, Armani, D & G, Gucci and Prada were all making an appearance. I imagine childrens jewellery would be a popular gift too as it is perfect for things like this. Just thinking of the possibilities makes my head spin. You could probably feed a family for a year with the amount that they are spending on baby showers. I mean seriously!

Sometimes, even one baby shower is not enough for some celebrities. Jessica Alba decided to have two baby showers. She had one on the Tyra Banks show and the other in private with just family and friends. If I’m honest if I had the money I would probably do the same too.

Almost a week ago my favourite Charmed character Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano) held a low-key baseball-themed baby shower with thirty-five of her friends and family. How cute is that? Milano is due in a couple of weeks and she is looking great! I wonder what the gifts were for the baby. Did it include a bassinet worth 3 grand, perhaps?
