Male Skin Care: What Girls Should Know
I live with a man who is vainer than I am when it comes to skin care (and well, basically everything else there is to be vain about), and below are some of the stuff I’ve learned from him when it comes to male skin care:
- Men’s facial pores are generally bigger than women’s. There are a lot of home remedies for minimizing them, but Paulie prefers whipped egg white with lemon since we almost always have those in stock.
- Men’s skin are generally oilier. Which is why cleanser and toner are essential to reduce oil on the surface of the skin.
- Men’s skin are thicker than women’s. And while this can be a factor in skin aging caused by the sun’s UV (ultraviolet) rays, protection from the sun is still needed for men who are extra exposed to the sun everyday. There is a study that shows men are more prone to skin cancer compared to women, so sun protection is extremly important.
- A man’s facial skin tends to be more sensitive than a woman’s, even if they are thicker. This is due to the shaving that they do, which is why it’s always important to always have either shaving cream or facial moisturizer on hand.
I have yet to learn more about the subject, in order to fully understand why Paulie is as vain as he is. Well, being with him 24/7 sure helps in the learning process.

Finally there are skincare products for men. Their skin needs just as much care as women’s skin and a lot of men are now realizing it
