Amistad
I’m not a huge fan of historical films, but when highly recommended by friends or relatives, I see to it that I find time to watch what they think is a great movie. Such is the case of the historical drama film Amistad. I wasn’t planning to see it at all because of the depressing theme. But a couple of my cousins and my uncle insisted that I watch this masterpiece by Spielberg. And so I did last Sunday afternoon. I didn’t want to see it at night and have those post-movie thoughts swirling in my head.
Anyways, it was worth watching. I was horrified for the slaves’ situation (and in the back of my twisted modern mind, I was wondering about their Offshore Injury coverage), moved by their plight and entertained (by the movie as a whole) at the same time. It was a very touching film, not one of the best I’ve seen so far, but definitely up there if only for Morgan Freeman’s performance.

my husband tells me about this film, i just said yes but haven’t seen it hehe, after reading this post, i suddenly have the interest of viewing it
