The Pump Room is a restaurant located at the Gold Coast Historic District in Chicago, Illinois. It was the place to be for celebrities back in the days. Big stars such as Robert Redford, Eddie Murphy, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Phil Collins, Audrey Hepburn, Michael J. Fox, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Bill Murray, Mick Jagger and tons of others have been spotted as regular customers there. The Pump Room has even been referenced several times in popular culture (books, songs, news articles), that’s how popular it was at its peak.

Now,several decades later, the Pump Room has been purchased and will be renovated by New York hotelier Ian Schrager, and some of the fixture will be sold. Included in the sale is the famous Booth One, where all the stars who went to the restaurant were seated. It is not the original one, though, as the original is already in storage at the Chicago History Museum. Still, the Booth One for sale has been in use for decades already, and will be sold through closed bidding.

Other items for sale are Frank Sinatra’s private booth (with the curtains and a Prohibition-era window for $4,500), an Oriental rug (selling for $1,700. Wow. Normal area rugs cost less than a tenth of that price) a baby grand piano, antique phones, leather bound menus, and glassware among a lot of other items. The Pump Room bar will likewise be for sale, priced at $10,500. Sale will go on for twelve days or until all items have been purchased.
