Although Paulie and I haven’t seen another episode since watching the first episode of Season One of Gossip Girl (too girly for his taste), I still get to see those girls on entertainment websites once in a while and how I admire their fashion sense! I’ve taken to noting what they wear when I see them in pictures, and secretly hope that I can still rock those outfits even if I am already a mom. Take for instance this Michael Kors neon pink scissor sheath worn by the gorgeous Blake Lively (who plays Serena van der Woodsen in the series) in the 2009 CFDA Awards.

Isn’t it a love? Although some critics noted the color is too bright, I still think Lively managed to pull the look off quite well. And it is pink. Who can’t not love pink?? This next ensemble worn by Leighton Meester who plays Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl is something I can see myself wearing. The Susan Daniels headband and the Gianfranco Ferre bag that she is wearing as well as the Cole Haan sandals is what sold the look for me. Gotta love the playful splash of color in an otherwise schoolmarm-sy look.

The all-black Taylor Momsen (as Jenny Humphrey in the TV show) in the following photo is simply sophisticated. I love her Nanette Lepore jacket and her Falke stockings which gave her outfit a touch of goth chic look. She balances the picture beside Meester’s bright Milly cardigan and equally colorful Stuart Weitzman bag. Quite a tandem for a season finale (this picture was from episode 225: The Goodbye Gossip Girl).

I hope I can still persuade Paulie to continue watching the series. I don’t watch any show alone because that would be boring. I think I’ll just say to him that he can get vector ideas for the girls that she is drawing from the fashion sense of the characters of the Gossip Girl.
