Well, at least fans of the Pirates Of The Caribbean series will be. Me and Svet were watching Nickelodeon this afternoon when I saw a commercial for the sneak peek of the fourth film in the series, On Stranger Tides. Johnny Depp, was as expected, his usual charming self. I’m not in general crazy about pirates, but Depp is Depp, and any character he portrays I’ll surely come to love. Why I even learned that there’s a celebration for an International Talk Like A Pirate Day every September 19th because I was looking for stuff about pirates!

But truth be told, I haven’t even finished watching any one of the earlier films in the series. I don’t know why, but I always just get to watch some of the beginning, or some of the parts in the middle or the just finale. Of course now that there’s a new film, I told Paulie that we must watch the other three in full before May comes. And wear pirate t shirts and cuss like pirates while we’re at it. Well, the latter we sometimes can do with just the right amount of provocation, even without the inspiration of the series.

I saw that Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom were not in the film anymore, but I doubt that we’ll be seeing the last of them in the coming installations of the series. From the looks of the trailer, Penelope Cruz played her role as the feisty daughter of Blackbeard (played by Ian McShane) rather delightfully. And looks gorgeous while doing so. Depp and Cruz are some of the few people in the world whom you can dress in tattered navy t shirts and still look like demigods. For sure, the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is a movie to watch out for this 2011.
