GT: Eating Out In Baguio
A brand-new month and a brand-new theme! This month is all about your most recommended places, and each week has a different prompt with which our entries will be based on. What do we girls love more (or almost the same as) shopping? Why food of course! This week’s prompt is all about food. In particular, the best eat out place you’ve been to in your area. For the record, me and the Paulie would rather buy our own ingredients and cook in our own kitchen than eat out. Not that we’re great cooks, but we’re cheapskates, see. LOL. And besides, what with the prices of vegetables here so low (and always fresh!), we see little reason to eat out often. BUT. When we do eat out, we almost always find ourselves at Jack’s Restaurant.
They have several branches here in Baguio City and La Trinidad (where the main branch is located), but we eat at the Session Road branch and the one near Abanao Square most. Why do we love the place? Why it’s cheap! Haha! But trust us, the food is just yum. Best bang for your buck, if you’re visiting Baguio and are on a tight budget. What to order? The famous Jack’s Rice, a complete meal which includes a quarter of delicious fried chicken, heavenly chopsuey, a sunny-side up egg, and a surprise (two slices of pork lechon hidden under the chopsuey).
Jack’s Rice for barely $2 (Php75.00)
The restaurant’s atmosphere is very laid back and cozy, definitely not uptight (as can only be expected since it’s not fine dining), one characteristic that seems to be a common denominator for restos here in our city. The servers are friendly and well, I just told you about the prices. They are rock bottom. Considering the food quality, which to our addicted tongues tastes like home. I haven’t read an online review of the restaurant that wasn’t singing its praises. It’s that good.
Promise me you’ll try it when you go here for a vacation
I realize though, that if I am to maintain a food blog, I have to explore more eat outs here in our city, since I’m not an expert cook. Well, I’ve decided it to be one of my resolutions, that next year we will eat out more. And on different places. So that I have something new to report other than Jack’s. Hee hee. Enough about where I love to eat out. We girl talkers want to know about yours. Like I said in the post about this month’s theme, we want to know where to eat if by any chance we went to your place for a vacation or anything. We might even hook up to share the food. It’d be fun!
How to join in the Girls Talk fun? Why it’s simple! Just make a post, link up to the EXACT URL of your post and hop to other girls’ blog to see what other girls have to say on the week’s topic! That’s how you play Girls Talk!

We’re going to Baguio ng Christmas week eh. This will be probably on my list. We’re planning on going to Oh My Gulay sana. Weeh!
I love how they cooked the egg. I love my eggs sunny-side up.
By the way, this is my first time joining GT. Been wanting to join for a long time na.
i always give hubby my sunny side-up because i prefer scrambled. hee hee.
haven’t been to oh my gulay (i mean, we practically gorge ourselves with veggies everyday. LOL) but i know it’s a favorite tourist eat out so it must be goood
last time i was in baguio was 1994 pa, and i remember we loved going to this coffee shop (forgot the name na) kasi they serve the best blueberry cheesecake i have ever tasted. My hubby also misses baguio a lot, he studied in UP for two years kaya dami din niya memories dyan.
Hopefully we can go back there next time we’re in Pinas, and id take note of that Jack’s Resto.
have a great weekend.
not a coffee person so i don’t haven’t entered any coffee shop here. i have to find that shop though. i need to. for the blueberry cheesecake
hi k thanks a lot for the step by step procedure on how to get the linkys right! promise to visit jack’s resto whenever i’m in baguio. i love the place, it reminds me of someone from my past!

It’s been two years since I’ve last visited Baguio… I miss not just the fruits but the weather and the veggies – - ooohhh.. the veggies!
