GT: What We Most Love

Posted on 25. Nov, 2010 by in girls talk, meme love

Last Thursday of the month ladies, and boy does it fly by so fast! This week it’s all about what we get/look for first at the accessories/apparel section of a shop. I think if there is anything in shopping that we girls most love, it is buying clothes and accessories. Whether it’s for ourselves or for people dear to us, it doesn’t matter, as long as we are in that section of the shop, we are inexplicably happy. I can understand why a lot of women believe in retail therapy. I, myself, find peace in clothes and accessories shopping. More so if I get them at bargain price. And even more so if I have a shopping buddy who squeals over a lovely find at the exact same moment that I do. Agree?

I may not be able to claim the title of ukay-ukay (imported second hand clothing shops that we have oodles of here in Baguio) queen, but I know enough about the ins and outs of ukays here to know when and where to get the best deals (i.e gorgeous Php50 tops and Php10 baby clothes). Honestly, I do not see anymore the sense of buying from malls when there are a bazillion clothes in ukay-ukay shops just waiting for me to buy them. Yes, dearies, a self-confessed cheapskate here.

Accessories I do not buy a lot anymore, although I cannot resist the impulse to sidle up to cute accessories for Svet. I swear I am turning more and more into a nerd who’d rather gawk at computer parts than fashionable items. I know, wretched. Somebody haul me up this geek hole I tripped in now and take me for some wild and crazy shopping! And I do mean NOW.

I’m an ukay fan too! I don’t know the ins and outs of ukay shopping, but I appreciate cheap, unique, second-hand clothes.

People ask me all the time where I go thrifting I frequent the Anonas ukays particularly the one at the LRT2 station and the building its called Lolo Oboys with four floors of ukay shops beside it. Im always on the lookout for new ukay places though the way Im always on the lookout for so I was more than excited when and I made our way to this ukay place last Tuesday. Its an old cinema that was converted into one big ukay place and the fitting rooms are the surprisingly clean restrooms.
