Stuart Weitzman

Posted on 12. Oct, 2010 by in fashion finds, luxury guide, shoe in, something green this way comes

I’ve been watching Oscar awards ceremonies for as long as I can remember and have recently acquired the habit of looking at who wears what during the event. However, it is only today that I’ve learned that Stuart Weitzman, designer of the high-end shoe company named after him, has been making a million-dollar shoe a year for the use of a selected Oscar nominee during the event, and his tradition started in 2002. Although I’ve learned that this year, he made so such shoe because he feel it wouldn’t be appropriate given the world’s economic condition.

I know the name Weitzman, mainly because among the most expensive shoes in the world, this shoe brand appeared several times in the top ten list. One of them was worth $3,000,000, for the Rita Hayworth Heels worn by Kathleen “Bird” York during the 2006 Academy Awards. I wonder how it feels on the feet. Seriously, whatever happened to good ‘ol hundred dollar womens sandals? I guess women are becoming higher maintenance these days, huh?

kalerky nga talaga mga prices ng shoes na yan, parang merong mga diamonds and golds sa presyo. Ironically, in this part of the world where i am, talagang gumagastos mga girls (meaning locals) for shoes and bags like this. Grabe ang sales ng mga high end brands like SW, LV, and recently nag-open din ang Jimmy Choo and Christian Liboutin. Would you believe, as in walang exaggeration, laging puno mga shops na yan sa malls- puro mga penguins nasa loob (mga local girls wearing abayas, hehehe)
