Lose That Belly Fat!
I may not be the best person in the world to talk about how to get rid of belly fat since the only time my belly grew was when I was pregnant. Barely a month after that I already managed to lose the extra fats. Or rather, my metabolism did. But just as I find it hard to gain that extra weight, I realized it must be doubly difficult to lose it. So I read tons of health sites and here’s a couple of things I learned from them regarding that thing around the waist that’s hard to lose:
- Not only will your belly bulges prevent you from wearing that sexy swimsuit that you’ve been dying to wear since you bought it decades ago, it also increases one’s risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer. Scary, but you know, when there’s a will, there’s a way.
- I’ve read that increasing portions of complex carbohydrates (like fruits and veggies) and reducing simple carbohydrates (such as white bread and refined pasta) helps a lot in fighting belly fat. So ditch those pasta recipes (or at least minimize them) and go on a fruit and vegetable binge. How does grilled asparagus lathered in garlic paste and red pepper flakes and steamed broccoli with mushrooms and lemon pepper sound to you? I know what I’ll say: Yum!!!
- Exercise. Notice that your abdominal bulge is the first area to shrink when you start exercising. I know this is not an option for a lot of people, what with their busy schedule. But if your health is at risk, why not set aside a few minutes of your time each day to make it better? Try to keep it fun, so it won’t feel like a chore.

So there. Just please remind me to read this back when (or rather, if) I get the middle age spread myself. Hee hee.
