Acne Cure: Lemon
Who says curing acne has to be an expensive process? I had a really bad acne breakout when I was in college (good thing it was when I took a one-semester break from studying) and it was not a pleasant sight, I tell you. I was very conscious of my face to the point that I rarely go out just to avoid being seen that way. What helped me most during those times was the trusty lemon fruit. How? Two ways: drinking the juice and direct application to the skin.

Drinking the juice by squeezing a piece of lemon into a small glass of water is more preferable for me than skin application, since the latter stings a bit, especially if left overnight, but I found that when combined, it took me less time to cure my acne than when I drank the juice alone. So I steeled myself and dabbed the lemon juice using a piece of cotton on my face every night for almost three weeks. When it burned a bit, I diluted the juice with water, and that made it ore bearable to leave overnight.
Two weeks of lemon treatment solved my acne problem. Of course I also partnered it with detoxification (drinking lots and lots of liquid during the day and eating lots of fruits as well) in order to get to the root cause of the acne breakout. It’s all behind me now, and I’m just thankful that I (or rather, my mom, since I don’t have a job during that time) didn’t have to spend so much in curing my skin problem.
Do you have natural acne treatments here that you can share?

although i get breakouts from time to time, i still wish i had known about this lemon cure when i was in college (some decade or two ago…hahaha!) when my breakouts were at it’s highest! i went through 6 dermatologists all throughout my life. then i noticed that, when i started to NOT care about them too much, my pimples stopped right then & there.
i shall try to use this beauty secret of yours. now my question is, can you use just calamansi in place of lemon? thanks!
i like your commenting system, by the way!
I haven’t tried that alternative, but I Googled and it seems the answer is yes, you can use calamansi instead of lemon (I understand that the former is easier to find than the latter). thank you for dropping by!
