GT: Breadwinner Drama
Welcome Girl Talkers! It’s a Thursday once again, so that means another week of appreciating ourselves more, and this week it’s all about the money, honey! Okay so what do we love about ourselves, money-wise? Let me start by sharing with you a sob story. LOL. Kidding. I’m the breadwinner of the family (although Paulie has a job now, but then again, we agreed that it would only be for a couple of months), so I am proud to say that, financial-wise, I am not dependent on anyone to feed my family. Not to my mom, or Paulie’s mom, or some secret super-sized bank account. And I help my mom out with expenses as much as I can (which explains my lack of savings, and which further explains that contrary to popular belief, I don’t rake in thousands of dollars a month).

What else can I brag about myself when it comes to money? Can I brag that I am a cheapskate? LOL. But that’s just for myself. I don’t know why but I’ve lived my whole life with the notion that it’s a sin to splurge on myself, but it’s totally okay to give my loved ones what they need and want. Methinks it’s the people-pleaser in me. Which is not such a bad thing, especially if you’re on the receiving end. Tee hee. To date, I also don’t have any outstanding credit that is larger than $20, or at least, not anything that I can remember. Hahaha! Let me know if I owe you something, so we can edit this entry to reveal the true amount. LOL.
So there. I know I whine a lot about not having enough money, but this entry made me realize that I should be thanking my lucky stars instead because there are a lot of people in worse financial condition than I am.
How about you my lovelies? What do you love about yourself financially? Be sure to make a post about the theme this week and link to the exact URL of your entry at the Inlinkz below. As usual, I’m as excited as a very excited person who’s got a special reason to be excited, and I am dying to read your entries!

At times I really wish money grew on trees or that all people would have the same ammount of money, cause it sucks to know that sometimes working hard isn’t enough
I’m still proud at you for what you said
There indeed are people who can get by with having less than what you or me have, and that should not be forgotten
P.S. Good luck on making more money in the future dearie, hugs! ?

then kudos to you sis! that’s a feat in itself, to be able to help your siblings
Proud of you dearie^_^

salute you Ms. Kaye you’ve experienced being the breadwinner atleast you know how to handle money wisely (advantage saken yun) kasi ako hindi ko narasan eh, kaya nong nag work ako sigh hirap talaga….walang natitira
Happy Girls Talk
hehe. nako girl. it can be learned in time. lalo na nga kapag pinaghihirapan mo na talaga yung pera. nako. no choice ka talaga kundi matuto!

korek! in fact, maganda yang theme ng GT ha. hmmm.. you just gave me an idea sis! haha!
Proud of you K, ako kaya yung palamunin.. hahahah! Di bale let’s support each other around to rake aplenty…. hahahah! I think humans really are bound to suffer … yung maraming pera marami din yung utang .. heheh! All the best K. just posted mine …
thanks ate vernz! korek, ung problema sa pera di talaga nawawala yan, rich o poor ka man
Your doing the trick Kaye—keeping it real and simple. I’m proud of you with what you shared with us today. Hindi tulad ng iba they’re very rich, puro utang naman o kaya they have all the stuff they want puro credit din naman. It all boils down on keeping a good track record when it comes to handling money.
naku. blush naman ako dun. hihi. e kaya lang naman din ako hindi umuutang masyado kasi alam ko wala naman ako pambayad. hahaha!
Again, thanks for this.
I never thought I’d ever say “I love myself money-wise”, but this topic helps me to look at the bright side of life.
that’s what i thought so too while i was writing my entry! and thank *you* for sharing your thoughts with the rest of the girls!
Im in! = http://www.jeslising.com/2010/07/gt-me-financially/
wow dami investment ah =))
nyek. wala nga! hahaha!
Hi sis! I’m back again after how many decades lol..
I enjoyed reading your post. I used to be a breadwinner too, because of financial trouble in our family, I took over that’s the time I wished I had my own bank so that all financial problems will be solved. But anyway after years of sacrifices everything had come into place. As the youngest child I’ve given my parents needs until their last moments.
I love myself financially because I was able to help my family.
have a nice day!
you’re the youngest but still you were able to contribute to your family’s expenses. that’s really impressive, because usually it’s the eldest (like moi) who shoulders all that responsibility
blogged http://sherryever.com/2010/07/gt-i-love-me-financially/
great! can’t wait to read it!
Congratulations!!! I find financially independent women very, very sexy! That’s a sweet life you got and you well deserve it for working hard!

believe talaga ako sayo marce…I can’t do what you did…tanggap ko na di ako maging succesful na WAHM:) but you ARE marce and I salute you for choosing such a noble career where only few took the challenge…You’re an inspiration marce..happy day to you:)
thanks marce! you’re an inspiration for me too. biruin mo, you’re away from family and old friends, just to work there and make a living for your family. galing!
I’m a bread winner too…i’ve been working in abroad for 5 years but still no savings…i’ve got loan and credit cards to support my 4 silbings in college…so i may not have money right now but am proud to say i’ve always been there to help my siblings achieve their dreams…
kudos for both of us and all other breadwinners out there:)
well it’s what counts naman talaga. what you do with your money. e ano ba kung may mga utang. kung sa pamilya naman napupunta di ba? at sa education pa nila. nababayaran naman ang mga utang, pero ung investment sa edukasyon, hindi un makakapaghintay
ako din, i don’t splurge on myself too much pero pag sa husband and daughter ko ok lang.
i am not a breadwinner but i am helping my husband financially which is just enough to pay our monthly bills so like you, i don’t have savings.
but still, you know that yung kinikita mo e me pinupuntahan monthly di ba? so that’s still a big contribution to the family
i’m not a breadwinner but i know how tough being one is because i have friends who earn for their family. i salute you for that K!
thanks miss sunshine! hihi. hindi ka breadwinner? but you work like a breadwinner! sipag mo kaya
Hi girl, you are right, there are many of them whose financially unstable at all. When I was in college for me to keep my faith firm, I always told myself that if my determination was enough I can get through all those money woes and then i was able to graduate in college
i was also like that during college. we didn’t have enough money back then to pay for my tuition fees in time. i was only fortunate because my aunt helped us out in paying my college bills.
that’s the correct attitude. to have faith, that everything will work out right in the end
wow, galing mo K! saludo ako sayo! I was a bread winner before, aga lang ako nagretire.. hihihi.
naks. inggit naman ako. haha! buti ka pa retirado na. ako mga 50 years pa. LOL
I would really love to join GT again! Pero next week na. Late na kasi ako. I love the topics!

wala na. wala ng work. hahaha

awww.. thanks marce! proud of you, too. when i saw your daughter at the wedding, i am pretty sure you were an excellent mom to her and to your other kids as well while they were growing up, seeing how your daughter turned out. *hugs*
galing! being a bread winner is something i haven’t tried before… must come with a lot of pressure, but with a lot of fulfillment din… happy GT! ;p
pressure talaga na. biruin mo sakin nakasalalay kung may kakainin sila o wala. kalerkey. LOL
