To Bangs Or Not To Bangs

That is the question.

Hubby (our resident haircutter) recently cut my daughter Svetlana’s hair because we noticed she was constantly brushing it away from her eyes while playing. It was her second haircut from her dad already, and she looks positively adorable with her bangs. I now want to have bangs, too! LOL! But of course, before I ask hubby to cut my hair for me, I have to know what style fits my face shape so I won’t look ridiculous on me when I finally get them. According to what I’ve read, bangs look best on straight and wavy hairs. Bingo! I have wavy hair! So that’s one less reason to worry if bangs would suit me. However, if your hair is curly, angling your hair would work better than ending up having über short bangs which will look silly. I have a large forehead, which makes bangs ideal for me to minimize it a bit.

Another thing I have to consider is my face shape. Errrr.. That’s my problem. I don’t know my face shape! LMAO! Stupid, right? They say I can measure in order to know, but I forgot again where I put our tape measure since the last time I used it. I think it’s oval, but then again, some days I think it’s heart-shaped. Hmm. What do you think? I learned that oval-shaped faces can wear any bangs style anytime (of course, still considering hair type, length and texture), while heart-shaped faces can choose between side-swept or full bangs cut straight across the face.

Carey Mulligan

Anyways, I’ve been pleading hubby to cut my hair like that of Carey Mulligan (pictured above). I tried her hair through a virtual makeover and my sister says it looks cute on me. Question is, should I believe her? Haha!  Hubby and I are still negotiating because he doesn’t want to cut my hair this short. LOL. Will let you know how it turns out.
